I’m Rachel Farrell, a journalist working and living in Dublin, Ireland.
I began blogging at the mere age of 14, with a site called Oh Hey There Rachel. I carved a niche as an ‘Irish teen blogger’, and it won me a few awards, brought me to London Fashion Week twice and landed me on some valuable media lists. When I started college, my free time and interest in blogging died out – and somehow writing for classwork took the fun out of writing at all.
I now work as a digital news journalist for Independent.ie after graduating from DCU with a BA in Journalism in 2018. I started off as a digital news reporter, and now I mostly work as an Assistant Homepage Editor.
I previously worked as a news reporter for the Dublin People media group, and as a fashion stylist, sales assistant and stock photographer for a luxury consignment store in Dublin.
I spent summer 2019 working as a reporter for News21, an investigative journalism project based out of Arizona State University in Phoenix. It was my second long-term stint in the USA, one of my favourite places to visit (50 states before the age of 50? I’m working on it!).
As a blogger, I’ve previously worked with Boohoo, New Look, Pretty Little Thing, Toni & Guy, Three Ireland and Entertainment One over the years.
I’m passionate about digital media, fashion and wellness and decided to return to blogging after a two year break. Keep up to date with my work and my side projects here!
